In 2007, the City of San Antonio acquired the former Mission Drive-In property. Nestled near the historic San Antonio Missions, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Mission Marquee Plaza continues the site’s long tradition as a community gathering space by hosting seasonal events including free movie screenings, farmers markets, cultural events, music and literary festivals, and more. This Saturday will feature a celebration of Colombian culture in honor of the film, “Encanto.” Scheduled activities include traditional Colombian dance performances by Ritmo Colombiano, Sabor de Sanchez food truck selling Colombian foods, free face painting by Color Instinct, and other activities. Local food trucks will also be onsite at each movie screening with foods and beverages for purchase. Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnics, and snacks. and movies will begin shortly after dusk.
